Another meeting in the books! We had lots going on this month and started out with announcements.
All have voted and the new board members for next year have been chosen. Taylor Darby will be our Secretary and Madelyn Macrunnel will be our Treasurer. Congratulations, ladies!
Jan announced that our next sew day for the charity quilt will be December 2nd at Colleen's house.
Next month's BOM is called King's Crown and was presented by Judy. See link to the blog post here.
The Pincushion swap planned last month resulted in a swap between Patricia and Jessica.
After announcements we had Show and Tell.
I brought in 1 of 8 mug rugs I was working on for a friend. I brought it in partially bound to demonstrate later how I bind my quilts.
Maritza brought in 2 more blocks she made for the magazine challenge from last month.
Nancy made a vintage baby quilt for her niece's first baby in Oregon.
Nancy Fricke-Thomas shared with us a quilt she and her sister entered in the quilt show Quilting on the Red and won!
Nancy made this quilt while at a retreat with her sister in North Dakota.
She also made this quilt for her daughter who's in the Navy as a Christmas gift.
Colleen shared with us this Cotton and Steel flying geese quilt top she made when she went to Oregon with some friends.
Jessica brought in a snowman wall hanging she made from a pattern from Primitive Gatherings.
Patti made this top from a See and Sew pattern using Scavenger Hunt fabric.
She also made these pillow cases for her daughter.
Susan brought in her magazine inspiration quilt from last month. Her theme was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
After show and tell, we had a "Binding Think Tank" where Colleen, Maritza, Jan and myself shared our binding preferences and tips.
We then did our monthly raffle. Here were the winners:
Bag, pattern, and quilt labels - Patti
Fat quarters - Jessica
Gift card - Madeline
We ended the meeting with a fat quarter game. We separated into 2 groups and had a grand ol' time!
The winners of each group were Maritza and Bonnie.
