September 2017 Meeting

Hello again! September's meeting had lots of fun things going on. And it was another good turnout.

We started Show and Tell with Jan. She made 2 doll quilts for 2 little girls her cousin nannies for.

She also made a quilt from the pattern "Delectable Mountain" for the boy her cousin nannies for.

Susanne shared with us this adorable Hexi Halloween quilt.

Susan showed us her quilt she made in a Sharon Halloway quilt-a-long. She used mostly scraps!

Nancy brought in a quilt she made last Saturday in a jelly roll challenge with her friends.

Wendy also made a quilt in the same jelly roll challenge. The pattern started out as a Moda quilt pattern but she put her own spin on it. The fabrics she used are from the line "Mixology".

She also made this cute quilt using a min charm pack.

Patricia shared her embroidered witches she been working on the past 2 weeks. She stains her own fabrics using coffee.

She also showed off her hanging she made from a panel given to her by a friend.

Sue made a quilt for her sister in law to match the decor in her basement room.

Jessica shared her double sided table runner. The top side is Halloween themed while the bottom is Thanksgiving themed.

She also made this pillow from pieces cut from Natalie's AccuQuiltGo cutter a few meetings ago.

Colleen finished a quilt top she's been piecing over the last 3 years.

Patti made a mini log cabin mini quilt. She submitted it to Curated Quilts (online mag) for a mini log cabin challenge. She started off with the hexagon pack she won from a few months ago, but ended up using another hexie pack and took a pattern and changed it a bit

Linda started a pattern and decided she didn't like the way it looked with the chosen fabrics so she changed it.

After Show and Tell Madelynn showed us October's BOM: Flying Geese.

There are 2 different versions. The link to instructions can be found here

We ended the meeting with a very successful quilt supply Yard Sale (sorry, I forgot to get a photo of everything before it all got cleaned out). There were books, fabric, and some fun handmade goods like pincushion jars, coffee cozies, and zipper pouches.

And this month's raffle winners were:
Jan Prytz - Primitive Gatherings gift card
Jessica Rittgarn - Victoria Findlay Wolfe Christmas Fabric
Angelica Jones - Halloween Fat quarter trio and Hexie pack by Me+You
Jessica Rittgarn - Me+You Fat Quarter Bundle

Next month we will have November's BOM, the presentation of the Mag Photo Challenge, and the inrto to the new quilty challange. We'll also have a demo by Linda Bretton on how to make a One Block Wonder.

Hope to see you all there!
